Location shots

LOCATION SHOTS!

Be prepared for a lot of images now. Due to it being a music video, with a three way justaposition - the band footage and the footage of each of the characters - it means we have a lot of shooting locations which all have to be studied in order to get the best possible shots! SO HERE IT GOES:

Location 1 : P.A BLOCK

We always had the intension of shooting here as it is a big open space and you have the ability to use the lighting desk, so i got trained on working the lighting desk i feel the band footage really benefited from the lighting choices. Also because the P.A Block holds all the music equipment it was easy to get a hold of the instruments, microphones, amps and staging.
here's the shot we took on the day of the shoot:

As you can also see from this image, there is a lot of room for us to move around with the cameras. There's even a belcony on the staircase we can film off to get higher angle shots.

 

 

 

LOCATION 2 : Ed's House

• (A.K.A Kaitlynn's house)

 Here is 'Kaitlynn's bedroom' this is where the idea of kaitlynn's regret of what she'd said to her partner comes in, we can use the standing lights in the room to create a spotlight on her and make the room look quite dark and cold, also because of all the floor space we have room to move around and could create a scene around her that makes it look like she'd trashed her room in rage.



Here is the bathroom we will use to shoot the scenes of when it is implied that Kaitlynn is going to overdose on pills. The mirror above the sink means we can have a good over the shoulder shot of her face in the mirror, maybe whilst trying to wash her face in order to remove tear marks. We could also use the mirror to see her facial expressions whilst she's trying to decidde whether to take the drugs or not.

 

 

 

• (A.K.A Adam's Kitchen)

Ed's house will also be used to shoot the scenes of when Adam is getting frustrated in his kicthen and hit's the bottle off the kitchen counter. The good thing about this location is that there is a blind overing the window, theerefore we can be in full control of the lighting and there is unlikely to be any glare in the shot from the light shining in through the window. It also looks like quite a petite kitchen, which we need because we're trying to give the audience the impression that these two people live in flats not houses.

 

 

 



 

 

Location 3: My house!

• (A.K.A Kaitlynn's kitchen)

 

The good thing about this location is that there are a lot of different types of lighting that can be used. There is also a big window which means we could possibly film shots of kaitlynn inside the house from the outside for a bit of a variation. The iland in the center of the kitchen can also be used for the thing Kaitlynn hits the bottle across.

Location 4: Adam's house

Here is the shot we took on the day of filming, as you can see there are low ceilings that could possibly connotate the feeling of the characters - that the relationship is suffocating them. This location was used for the argument scenes. It's spacious enough for us to be able to link two shots together to make it look like adam is sat on the best whilst this scene is going on.
